We’re so excited that you want to record a video for your sponsored child using the Give Clarity Sponsorship Portal! Videos are an easy way to connect with your learner, lending a heartbeat and warmth to your relationship.

Below, you’ll find a handful of tips to help you create the best videos possible.
Content Ideas
- Pray for your child! Begin or end with a prayer for their families, school or friends. Pray that they might grow strong in their relationship with Jesus, that they might know His love and presence. How you pray for your son/daughter, niece/nephew, or grandchild is how you can pray for them.
- Read Scripture. Pick a Psalm, a parable from the Gospels, or part of Paul’s letters and simply read the Scripture as a video.
- Introduce your family or friends. It’s a great way to give your learner a feel for who you are. It’s also a natural way to share about your learner with those you are close with.
- Ask a question or two. Be curious about meaningful portions of the child’s life that they can talk about without shame or fear. For example, ask what their friends mean to them, what MMLC means to them, what they find the most fun at school, or what is the hardest part of school.
- When in doubt, record yourself saying hello, greeting your learner, and saying that you love them. It means the world to them just to know that someone across the world loves them and prays for them.
Video Filming Suggestions
- Nature works best for your background – your backyard, a park, next to a tree, etc. We try to minimize displays of wealth, and using a natural background is the easiest way to accomplish this.
- Because you are corresponding with a child in a different cultural context, please remember to dress conservatively. Wearing a T-shirt is always a safe bet.
- Smile! Seeing a smile often puts one on our faces, and that is certainly the case when we see pictures of our learners! Our desire is to return the favor.
- Keep it brief – until you get into the swing of things, 2 minutes is plenty of time. We would rather have you upload two 2-minute videos than one 4-minute video.
- Use your mobile device. Recording a video on a cell phone or tablet can make the process really easy. You can then go to the Give Clarity website directly from the device and upload the video.
