How You’ll Serve
What will you be doing during your time in Nakuru? The short answer is loving like Jesus.
Each day will be filled with opportunities to make tangible connections. This is your chance to roll up your sleeves, dive into the local culture, and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Each day begins with prayer and fellowship over breakfast with the people you’re serving alongside. The specific details of the day-to-day may change, understanding that the work at Maisha Mapya will shift with the community and school’s specific needs at the time.
Trusting in God’s plan for the trip and staying flexible is a great way to experience the trip He wants for you and your team.
We want to make sure your time in Nakuru helps you experience the heart of Living Stone Global’s work in the community. Here’s what a day might include:
- Meeting and interacting with the Maisha Mapya students and teachers
- Attending the daily church service and fellowshipping with the local community
- Supporting local education programs, from classroom lessons to games and outdoor sports
- Connecting with, praying for and learning from the Living Stone Global missionaries who live in the community
- Engaging in community outreach, sharing the love of Christ through your testimony and actions
- Spending time with and getting to know your sponsored child
- Building lifelong connections with the people you meet, making the gospel a living, breathing reality for them
Most days will end with dinner together at a local restaurant or the hotel, offering opportunities to share and hear about how God was moving in and through you.
Nakuru Trip Details, Dates and Cost
A short-term mission trip with Living Stone Global is 14 days long and costs $2,000 per person. The cost includes:
- Hotels in Kenya
- Meals
- Local transportation while in Kenya
- Travel Insurance
- Two-day safari
- Basic ministry materials, including a t-shirt and two luggage tags
Our team works hard to make plans that will help you experience the local culture while also enjoying some comforts of home. Often, teams that serve with Living Stone Global stay at the local Midland Hotel and end their trip with a two-day safari. If one or both are unavailable, your team should have similar experiences and lodging.
The $2,000 cost does not include transportation to and from Kenya, such as flights, U.S. transportation or hotels. It also doesn’t include personal spending money or any needed passport, visa or vaccination fees.
